## Before you start

Sign in to the correct workplace with permission to manage the schedule. Add your employees and shifts first, and resolve any availability conflicts that prevent publishing.

## Follow the steps

1. ### Check the draft shifts

Open Schedule and choose the day, week or month you want to review. Striped draft shifts are not yet visible to employees. Other managers with the appropriate access can review them.

2. ### Choose how much to publish

Open an individual shift and use its paper-plane Publish button, publish a single day from its date heading, or use Publish at the top to publish the pending shifts in the current view. In Day view that covers the day; in Week view the week; in Month view the month.

3. ### Check the published state

Published shifts lose their draft pattern. The pending count decreases and the status shows when everything in the selected view is published. Your team can now see the published schedule in their employee app.

4. ### Republish changed start or end times

Save the new times, then review the pending change. Employees keep seeing the last published times until you republish. The shift dialog shows those previous times so you can compare before sending the update.

5. ### Handle cancellations separately

Deleting a published shift removes it without another publish step. Check the employee and date carefully before deleting; cancellation alerts apply to shifts that are still relevant, rather than every historical shift.

## What to know about this recording

### Who can see drafts?

The recording says draft shifts are visible only to you. More precisely, they are hidden from employees; authorized managers can also see and manage them.

### How do notifications work?

Employees can see published shifts in their app. Email alerts depend on the plan, notification settings, an employee email address and a verified publishing manager email. Email alerts are a Pro and Business feature; delivery is not guaranteed for every publication.

### Which edits need republishing?

The pending-change flow shown here applies to changes to start or end times. It should not be read as a promise that every field edit follows that same process.
